Pilora's Cafe

Imagine an old gas station turned great, hometown cafe, that's Pilora's.

Great quiches, excellent chicken salad and wonderful beer cheese soup are just a few items that can be enjoyed.

Portions are on the lighter side, but definitely not skimpy!

They serve Alterra coffee and do a darn good job of making it. If you're a coffee drinker, you won't be disappointed. If you're not, this is a good place to start.

Pilora's serves breakfast and lunch, and they're not open in the evenings or Sundays.

Why we like it:  Any place that has the bathroom entrance on the outside like the old gas station it is and still keeps us coming back is definitely worth it!

Water City Grill

We like this place because it's local. It does a good job celebrating what Oshkosh is: the community, it's past, etc.

It has something for every palate. It will appeal to those looking for good ethnic food, vegetarian options, or an excellent steak.

You can spend anywhere from $8-$25.

Water City Grill also boasts an excellent selection of beers from the tap.

Enjoy live music on Saturday evenings and have fun looking at the pictures of turn-of-the-century Oshkosh.

Dishes we love:
Mediterranean Burger ($9.00)
Muffaletta ($10.50)
Any fish entree (around $18.00)

Why An Oshkosh Restaurant Blog?

Because we can't find websites that tell us what we can expect from restaurants in Oshkosh, WI.

This is not a critique of Oshkosh restaurants!

Being a critic is the worst job ever! We're not restaurant owners and don't feel we have the right to criticize anyone's establishment.

Instead, we aim to offer descriptions of restaurants (what you can expect in terms of food, atmosphere, and price).

We hope you find this blog helpful!
